Designed a “Budget and Forecast Toolkit” for a public safety organization to utilize in annual budgeting processes as well as strengthen management and Board of Directors financial decision making over a 5-year prospective period.
Grant Administration and Compliance System
Developed an electronic accounting and compliance system to manage the accounting and grant compliance, administration, and reporting of over $5 million in a California Energy Commission (CEC) funded project. Provided interfacing and compliance oversight to over 17 partner organizations in the Western United States.
Accounting & Audit Preparation
Provided accounting and compliance services to support, as needed, day-to-day accounting functions and year-end audit preparation procedures, facilitating the successful achievement of clean unqualified audit reports, for a public safety organization for several years.
Indirect Cost Rate Proposal for a Special District
Developed an Indirect Cost Rate proposal for a Special District, providing for an increase to Admin Income revenue generation of over 10% in the prospective fiscal year.
Accounting and Compliance System Redevelopment
Redeveloped a public safety organizations’ accounting and compliance system from a DOS, paper-based system to Quickbooks’, paperless system; increased the organizations’ indirect cost rate income generation by over 17%; assisted in the implementation and management of a new grant program; and streamlined internal audit processes that sought to minimize external audit entries to three high level GASB reporting items.
Designed a “Cash Flow and P&L Toolkit”
Designed a “Cash Flow and P&L Toolkit” for a non-profit organization to utilize in annual budgeting processes as well as strengthen management and Board of Directors financial decision making over a current budget or fiscal period.
Creation of Financial Dashboard
Created a “Financial Dashboard” for a non-profit organization to support monthly financial statement presentations to the Board of Directors and strengthen overall management decision making efforts by the organization as a whole.
Quickbooks’ Onboarding and Timekeeping System Development
Supported a Special District in the design and implementation of a new Quickbooks’ accounting system, and design of improved financial reporting tools (including the development of a Dashboard) to enhance and strengthen overall financial and grant reporting.

Supported the interim accounting, grant compliance, grant administration and grant reporting needs of the Aquatic Invasive Species Program for a Public Agency in the Lake Tahoe area.

“Drew Consulting Inc. (DCI) supported the Lake Valley Fire Protection District secure and implement a $179,951 U.S. Forest Service Cooperative Agreement on behalf of the Lake Tahoe Airport in South Lake Tahoe, California. The Cooperative Agreement provided funding to make the airport more resilient to an urban wildland fire threat. DCI ensured the grant was closed out properly and within the allocated amount. The project required no less than three separate bid advertisements to find a responsive bidder and DCI remained determined to see the grant through completion. DCI has a proven track record managing regulatory complexity and engaging with multiple area stakeholders. Possessing both traits are necessary to complete projects in the Tahoe Basin.
